{"id":10977,"date":"2018-10-10T12:33:51","date_gmt":"2018-10-10T11:33:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/endcorporalpunishment.org\/?p=10977"},"modified":"2018-10-10T12:33:51","modified_gmt":"2018-10-10T11:33:51","slug":"crpd-recommends-prohibition-at-latest-session","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/endcorporalpunishment.org\/crpd-recommends-prohibition-at-latest-session\/","title":{"rendered":"CRPD recommends prohibition at latest session"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At its 20<sup>th<\/sup> session in August-September 2018, the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities issued recommendations on corporal punishment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In line with the submissions of the Global Initiative and of the South African Human Rights Commission, as well as Target 16.2 of the Sustainable Development Goals, the Committee recommended to <strong>South Africa<\/strong> that the Children\u2019s Act is amended without delay to explicitly prohibit all forms of corporal punishment in all settings.
