{"id":16805,"date":"2019-12-19T16:16:16","date_gmt":"2019-12-19T16:16:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/endcorporalpunishment.org\/?p=16805"},"modified":"2019-12-19T16:16:18","modified_gmt":"2019-12-19T16:16:18","slug":"human-rights-committee-issues-recommendation-on-corporal-punishment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/endcorporalpunishment.org\/human-rights-committee-issues-recommendation-on-corporal-punishment\/","title":{"rendered":"Human Rights Committee issues recommendation on corporal punishment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>At the Human Rights Committee\u2019s 125<sup>th<\/sup> session earlier in 2019, the Committee issued recommendations on corporal punishment of children:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To\u00a0<strong>Angola <\/strong>and to<strong> Niger<\/strong>, the Committee recommended that the Government take practical steps, including through legislative measures, to put an end to all forms of corporal punishment in all settings.<\/li>\n<li>The Committee expressed concern to\u00a0<strong>St Vincent and the Grenadines<\/strong>\u00a0that, despite previous recommendations, corporal punishment was still lawful in all settings.
