States can either \u2018support\u2019 (accept) or \u2018note\u2019 UPR recommendations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Angola<\/strong>, <strong>Bosnia and Herzegovina<\/strong> and <strong>Kazakhstan<\/strong>\u00a0supported recommendations to prohibit all corporal punishment of children.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Iraq<\/strong> gave partial support to a recommendation to prohibit all corporal punishment, stating that \u201ccorporal punishment is prohibited in all circumstances save where corporal punishment is taken to mean the death penalty\u201d.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Egypt<\/strong> gave a mixed response to recommendations to prohibit corporal punishment in all settings, partially supporting one and supporting the other, and stating that the law already prohibited corporal punishment of children in all settings.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Iran <\/strong>also gave a mixed response to recommendations on corporal punishment: it did not support the recommendations on corporal punishment as a sentence for a crime and noted another recommendation on prohibiting all corporal punishment of children in all settings.<\/li>\n<li>Despite the ongoing legality of corporal punishment in\u00a0<strong>El Salvador<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Italy<\/strong>, no recommendations on the issue were made to them.
