data-contrast=\"auto\">, the Committee expressed concern\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">over the widespread practical and cultural acceptance of\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">corporal punishment i<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">n schools.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Committee\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">issued its first recommendation on the issue,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">reco<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">mmending\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">that the state explicitly prohibit corporal punishment in schools and provide education and training for teachers and parents on alternative, non-violent forms of discipline.\u00a0<\/span><span
