shortcode-container\" style=\"font-size: 16px;\">\n\t<p>At its 76th session in April- May 2023, the Committee Against Torture issued recommendations and observations on the prohibition and elimination of corporal punishment of children to\u00a0<strong>Ethiopia<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Slovakia<\/strong>.<\/p><p>&nbsp;<\/p><p>To Ethiopia the Committee recommended:<\/p><p>\u201cThe State party should:<\/p><p>\u2026Amend its Criminal Code and Family Code, with a view to prohibiting corporal punishment in all settings, including in the home and alternative care settings, and continue raising public awareness on positive, participatory and non-violent forms of discipline\u201d.<\/p><p>&nbsp;<\/p><p>To Slovakia the Committee said:<\/p><p>\u201cThe Committee recommends that the State party clearly and unambiguously ban the use of corporal punishment in exercising parental rights and obligations, and adopt associated awareness-raising and educational campaigns to inform the general public on the prohibition of the use of corporal punishment against children and its consequences.\u201d<\/p><p>&nbsp;<\/p><p>Find out more about the recommendations in our individual country reports
