Prepared for the\u00a0Agenda 2030 for Children: End Violence Solutions Summit<\/em>, held in Stockholm, Sweden, on 14-15 February 2018, this report tracks progress towards prohibition and elimination of corporal punishment of children in Pathfinding countries. Under the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children, these countries have committed to three to five years of accelerated action towards target 16.2 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): \u201cEnd abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence against and torture of children.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

The Solutions Summit aims to raise awareness of SDG 16.2 and showcase solutions from around the world. This report highlights the centrality of ending corporal punishment to achieving SDG 16.2 and related targets and for each Pathfinding country, it sets out the current legality of corporal punishment and what needs to be done to achieve prohibition, any government commitment to achieving prohibition, any prevalence data and examples of good practice, and any relevant recommendations from UN and regional treaty monitoring bodies.<\/span><\/p>
